Global Health, Literacy and Community Development in Nicaragua


Join us for the study abroad experience,  Global Health, Literacy and Community Development, May 23rd and June 6th, 2018 (exact dates to be finalized). Students will explore  medical, educational and sustainable agriculture  practices and learn community development approaches firsthand from our Nicaraguan partners. The trip is designed to meet a wide range of student interests and offers a unique experience to  broaden  perspective, make new friends, and gain insight into another culture.  The trip is limited to 10 students and applications are due Dec. 1, 2017. The study abroad leaders are  Professors Helen Brown, Movement Sciences and Janine Darragh, Curriculum and Instruction who have come together to teach this two week experience.   Our In-Country Host Organizations are CEPAD, a Faith based community development organization and Fundacion Aprender,  a non-profit organization dedicated to improving education and quality of life for the Las Salinas Community.
